Google is expanding its AI-powered Search features with the rollout of Gemini 2.5 Pro and Deep Search for Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers in the US, bringing advanced research tools and agent-like features directly into its platform Starting this week, subscribers to Google’s AI Pro and Ultra plans can access Gemini 2.5 Pro directly within AI Mode in Search. The upgraded model is designed to handle complex reasoning, advanced math, and coding queries, offering more detailed and accurate answers alongside links for further learning. Users can manually select Gemini 2.5 Pro through a drop-down menu in AI Mode, while the default AI model will continue to serve everyday search needs.
For users seeking deeper insights, Google is also rolling out Deep Search, powered by Gemini 2.5 Pro, within AI Mode. Described as Google’s most advanced research tool to date, Deep Search can issue hundreds of searches, analyse disparate information, and produce comprehensive, fully-cited reports in Both Gemini 2.5 Pro and Deep Search are initially available through Google’s Labs programme, where users can opt in to test experimental features.
